accepted a position as general counsel of an environmental services
company and is no longer a partner with Lockhart Hornby. The
name of the firm will soon be changed to Lockhart, PLLC to reflect
Scott's withdrawal from the firm. Scott is still a good
friend, and I congratulate him on his new position.

Scott is a
seasoned litigator and an experienced commercial, business and
employment attorney, having focused his representation on start-up,
closely-held, and middle market companies through general counsel
and law firm roles. Scott began his legal career as general counsel
for an environmental services firm in Detroit, Michigan, and
subsequently, established a law firm focused exclusively on the
needs of emerging and closely held companies.
While in private
practice, Scott’s reputation for innovative and cost-effective
client representation attracted one of Michigan’s largest school
districts to retain his services for representation in a case of
first impression and several high profile litigation matters.
Scott returned to a general counsel position with one of his long
term clients, a medical personnel recruiting and staffing company, based in
suburban Detroit, where he assisted in immigration, transactional,
general corporate, and litigation matters.
With Lockhart Hornby, Scott's practice focuses on litigation,
including general business, corporate, employment, intellectual
property and trade secret disputes, as well as general business and
corporate law transactional matters.
Scott earned his JD from the University of Detroit School of Law
and his BA (dual majors) from the University of Michigan (Ann
Arbor). He is licensed to practice in North Carolina, as well as in
his home state of Michigan. |
